About Keizu

系図 (keizu) - a genealogy chart. A diagram tracing a lineage back through generations to its origin. Keizu traces the same kind of lineage through corporate data and ownership.

The problem

A company's registered shareholder is often not the person who actually controls it. Ownership sits behind holding companies, sits across borders, and sometimes sits behind a nominee whose name on the register isn't the name of anyone who really benefits. Finding out who's actually behind a company means walking that chain, register by register, jurisdiction by jurisdiction - by hand, this is slow, and it's easy to stop one link too early and call it resolved.

What Keizu does

Keizu reads official company registers, resolves the ownership chain beneath a company automatically, and reports exactly how far that resolution got - a confirmed natural person, or a specific, named reason it stopped short. It does this by design rather than by summary: the full algorithm is public, on how Keizu determines a UBO, because a resolution result that matters for a compliance decision should be something you can actually check, not a black box.

What Keizu is not

Keizu is not an identity verification or sanctions screening service - that's a deliberately different problem, and Keizu says so rather than blurring the line. It's not a document store - it doesn't hold or resell copies of the underlying registry filings, only the structured result of reading them. And it's not a black-box score - every resolution traces back to the specific register data behind it.

How we treat the data

Everything Keizu shows is already public - published by an official register under its own stated legal basis for disclosure. Keizu reads it, never writes to it, and provides a clear route to object to or request suppression of anything shown about a specific individual. See Data sources and Privacy & objections.
